Welcome to the August 2008 edition of the Tasmanian Risk Management Fund newsletter, riskmatters, published by the Department of Treasury and Finance.
The Bridgewater High School fire in October 2007 represents a major event for the Fund and an opportunity to reassess our preparedness for large claims.
On page 3 we highlight some of the factors that contributed to the escalation of business continuity claim costs, and encourage you to consider Education’s experience when reviewing your own business continuity plans.
We remind agencies that the liability of the Fund is limited to a building’s replacement value, and note that the provisioning for large claims is to be reviewed by the Fund’s Actuary.
Also in this issue are details of the new provider for corporate travel cover from 1 July 2008 and changes to our Branch structure that will impact upon the TRMF Unit.

Finding TRMF on the new Treasury Website
Now that Treasury has a new look website, there is no longer an "image link" to the Fund from the home page.
We do have our own shortcut : http://www.treasury.tas.gov.au/trmf and you can bookmark this address, otherwise please select Tasmanian Risk Management Fund from the Quick Links menu on the new Home Page.
