Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 1991 (FOI Act) gives the public, the media and members of Parliament the right to access information we hold, unless the information is exempt from release.
The FOI Act also provides a number of limited exemptions that allow information to be withheld if it is, for example, private information, commercial information supplied in confidence, or internal working information such as advice, recommendations or opinions.
