Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act 1991 gives the public, the media and members of Parliament the right to access information held by the Department, unless the information is exempt from release. The Act also allows information to be withheld if it is, for example, personal information, commercial information supplied in-confidence, or internal working information such as advice, recommendations or opinions.
