grants for conserving and restoring Hobart's cathedrals

In December 2007, the Government approved a grant of $1.5 million to be provided towards the cost of conservation and restoration works at St David's Cathedral. We subsequently made arrangements for the payment of the Government's funding contribution, which was provided to representatives of the St David's Cathedral Foundation by the then Premier in February 2008. A similar contribution of $1.5 million from the Government to assist with the restoration of St Mary's Cathedral was previously administered by us in 2004–05.
