Responsibilities of the Shareholder Policy and Markets Branch in relation to Government Businesses include:

• monitoring and providing advice on the performance and management of Government businesses, ie Government Business Enterprises (GBEs) and State-owned Companies (SOCs);
• providing policy advice in relation to the provision of Community Service Obligations and Community Service Agreements;
• coordinating presentations to rating agencies; and
• provide advice on issues relating to private sector participation in the provision of public infrastructure.
