 | Applying for a Liquor Licence
There are five types of liquor licence: general, club, on, off, and special. |
 | Applying for a Special Permit
A special permit authorises the sale of liquor on premises when normally no other authority for the sale of liquor has been issued. There are four types of special permit based on the amount of time a permit is required:
- up to four days;
- four to thirty days;
- six months; and
- twelve months.

 | Applying for a Special Permit (unlicensed club)
This permit authorises a person to sell liquor on behalf of an incorporated sporting club for up to 15 hours per week. |
| Note: Applications to continue or extend existing liquor permits are treated as new applications. |
| Existing Licence Holders |
 | Applying for an Out-of-Hours Permit
An out-of-hours permit authorises the sale of liquor on licensed premises for periods between midnight and 5 am. |
 | Applying to transfer a Liquor Licence
A liquor licence holder may transfer his or her licence to another person once approved by the Commissioner for Licensing. |
 | Applying for an Interim Authority to act as Licensee
An interim authority to act as licensee authorises a person to act as licensee where the current licensee is unable or unwilling to exercise the authority of the licence. |
 | Applying to alter a Licensed Premises
A licensee may alter the area of the licensed premises once approved by the Commissioner for Licensing. |

 | Applying for a Gaming Licence

 | Applying for a Licensed Premises Gaming Licence
Individuals, partnerships, companies or incorporated bodies may apply to operate keno and/or gaming machines at licensed premises in Tasmania. |
 | Applying for Special Employee and Technician Licences
Special employee and technician licences allow licence holders to be employed in the gaming industry to undertake specific functions. |
 | Applying for a Tasmanian Gaming Licence
A Tasmanian gaming licence allows the holder to conduct gaming activities including by means of a telecommunications device (such as internet gaming). Activities that fall under a Tasmanian gaming licence include sports betting, simulated gaming, fixed odds wagering and major lotteries. |
 | Incorporated Bodies
Companies or incorporated bodies applying for or renewing a licensed premises gaming licence need to provide additional information. |
 | Applying for listing on the Roll of Recognised Manufacturers, Suppliers and Testers of Gaming Equipment
Individuals wishing to manufacture, sell or supply gaming machines, gaming machine games and gaming equipment; or service, repair, test or maintain gaming equipment need to apply for listing on the Roll. |
 | Existing Licence Holders |
 | If you already hold a gaming licence, the Tasmanian Gaming Commission will notify you well in advance of your licence expiring that it needs to be renewed and how to do it. |
