Pre-qualification

To undertake any Tasmanian government agency building construction and maintenance services that exceed $100 000, contractors must be pre-qualified with the Department of Treasury and Finance.

Contractors are registered in the following categories:

    • Building Works – Institutional
    • Building Works – Residential
    • Electrical Services
    • Mechanical Services
    • Fire Services
    • Building Systems – Monitoring & Control
    • Facilities Management and Maintenance

    Contractors satisfying pre-qualification requirements become eligible to tender for works in their designated fields of expertise, up to a specified project cost.

    A register of pre-qualified consultants is maintained by the Department of Treasury and Finance.

    Consultants are registered in two areas:
    • Strategic Services
      • Strategic Asset Management
      • Management of Projects
      • Management of Maintenance
      • Heritage Conservation Planning
    • Project Services
      • Civil Engineering
      • Electrical Engineering Services
      • Mechanical Engineering Services
