The Government Property Disposal Program is an ongoing process to dispose of non-strategic surplus Government real property.

The Property Disposal Program is administered by the Major Sales Program Oversight Committee (MSPOC) consisting of the Secretaries of the Department of Treasury and Finance and Department of Primary Industries and Water (DPIW). The Committee is supported by the Department of Treasury and Finance, DPIW and Department of Economic Development (DED).

The MSPOC is responsible, inter alia, for identifying potential surplus Crown land and properties, developing an annual Government property sales program and forward estimates and monitoring progress with the Program.

The majority of Government property sales through the Program are managed by:

• Department of Treasury and Finance, for surplus building assets no longer required by Government agencies such as hospitals, non public housing, schools, offices and land within city and metropolitan areas.
• DED for Crown properties that are considered development sites and investment opportunities.
