Schedule of Hearings and Visits.

In accordance with the Local Government (Financial Assistance) Act 1995 the Commission holds annual hearings in regional centres at which councils and the general public are invited to attend. As part of the hearings program the Commission also offers a third of all councils a visit each year. This results in the Commission visiting every council over a three-year period.

Current Research Focus

Over recent months, the Commission has been undertaking a significant review of its road assessment methodology with the assistance of the council engineers. The Commission seeks to engage councils during its review and will release discussion papers for consultation at various stages throughout the process.
