This section of the Treasury and Finance website provides information about Tasmanian public sector superannuation arrangements. The major pieces of superannuation legislation for which the Treasurer has Ministerial responsibility are the Retirement Benefits Act 1993, the Public Sector Superannuation Reform Act 1999 and the Judges’ Contributory Pensions Act 1968. The Intergovernment Financial Policy Branch of Treasury monitors the State’s public sector superannuation arrangements and provides policy advice on public sector superannuation issues to the Treasurer as and when required.
