| (1) | This instruction applies only to the procurement of goods and services and is to be read in conjunction with Instructions 1101 to 1124.

| (2) | Unless otherwise approved by the Secretary, or an authorised delegate, of the Department of Treasury and Finance, a contract must not be extended unless it contains a specific provision, or provisions, in the original contract, such as an option, allowing for it to be extended.
Before considering a contract extension provision, the original supplier’s performance should be reviewed to ensure that the agency is satisfied with its performance.
