Our Cadet and Graduate Programs

Our Cadet program enables undergraduates to 'learn our business from the grass roots' while completing a tertiary degree. We seek to build a diverse and talented workforce and are open to considering a wide range of university disciplines, not just accounting, financial management, economics or law.

Our graduate program enables recent graduates to undertake professional accounting qualifications while gaining experience in our budget management and government finance and accounting branches.

Applications for the Department of Treasury and Finance Cadetship Program are now open. Click here  for more information.

Working together - 4

Fundamentally our cadets and graduates need to be innovative and critical thinkers combined with an ability to be adaptive to changing situations and meeting new challenges. Click on the images below to discover their career journey with Treasury.

Cadet - Emily Southam
The main thing I like about working at Treasury is the attention paid to reaching your potential through the many personal and professional development opportunities made available. I also appreciate that although there are many clever and talented people working at Treasury, the focus is not on who is the smartest in a room.”
It is a great feeling to work on real issues that affect Tasmanians. Being able to contribute to the place where your children grow up is what I like the most about working with Treasury. Also, working with committed high skilled people in a very dynamic environment is an extra bonus that makes it an enjoyable place to be.”
