Treasury Building Complex Divestment Project

​​​​​On 14 June 2018, the Treasurer announced that the Government is open to considering other uses for the Treasury buildings.

Treasury is implementing a multi-stage process to divest the buildings, commencing with a detailed due diligence phase. 

On 2 March 2019, the Department of Treasury and Finance released a Request for Tender to engage a consultant to assist with the divestment of the Treasury Building Complex: 21 Murray Street, Hobart. Further details on the tender process can be found on the Tasmanian Government Tenders website.​

To provide for broad public access, the Treasury buildings were opened to the public as part of the 2018 Open House Hobart program in November 2018.
