Independent Review of Trade Waste Regulation in Tasmania
The Tasmanian Government has commissioned an independent review of Tasmania's trade waste regulatory framework. The Review is being undertaken by RM Consulting Group (RMCG) on behalf of the Department of Treasury and Finance.
About the Review
The Review is evaluating whether Tasmania's current trade waste regulatory framework provides industries, TasWater and regulators with a workable pathway to achieving environmental outcomes, and if not, what changes may be needed to create a system that is environmentally effective, economically sustainable and supportive of industry development.
The Review will examine both the economic and environmental regulatory frameworks that govern trade waste discharged to Tasmania's sewerage systems. It will consider whether the current framework is effective, efficient, transparent and fit for purpose.
