Renewing a Special Employee’s or Technician’s Licence

​If your current Special Employee's or Technician's licence is due to expire and you wish to renew your licence please complete the attached form and return it to the Liquor and Gaming Branch prior to the expiry date.

Special Employee's Licence holders are required to complete a Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) qualification (SITHGAM201) every five years. If you have not already done so, please arrange training from a Registered Training Organisation which can be found at https://www.treasury.tas.gov.au/liquor-and-gaming/gambling/responsible-conduct-of-gambling. If you are unsure when your most recent RCG qualification expires please contact the Branch via gaming@treasury.tas.gov.au.

If your renewal application is not received prior to the expiry date of your licence then it will expire and will no longer be in effect. New applications can take up to four weeks to assess and you cannot work with keno or gaming machines during that time.

Any fingerprints held by the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission in connection with your licence will be destroyed should you not apply to renew your licence.

Please note the Tasmanian Government has introduced a number of measures to support businesses and individuals affected by the impact of Coronavirus and as a result, have waived the renewal fees for Special Employee's and Technician's from 15 March 2020, for the calendar year of 2020.  You do not need to pay an application fee to renew your licence.
