Liquor harm minimisation

Tasmania's liquor licensing legislation provides the Commissioner for Licensing with powers to reduce or minimise harm associated with the sale and consumption of liquor in Tasmania, such as the ability to impose conditions on licences or permits.

The Commissioner will be reviewing the regulatory arrangements for express (same day) liquor deliveries and takeaway sales from cafes and restaurants during 2022. Consultation with relevant stakeholders will inform the future approach.

Tasmanian drug strategy

The Tasmanian Drug Strategy provides a six‑year framework to minimise the risks and harms associated with alcohol, tobacco and other drug use in Tasmania.

Tasmanian alcohol action plan

A new Tasmanian Alcohol Action Plan will be developed following finalisation of the Drug Strategy and will replace the Tasmanian Alcohol Action Framework 2010-2015 (extended to 2019).
