​The Government Property Disposal Program is an ongoing process to dispose of non-strategic surplus Government real property. The majority of Government property sales through the program are managed by​:

• Department of Treasury and Finance, for surplus building assets no longer required by Government agencies.
  
• Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania for sales of minor parcels of Crown land.
  

​T​he Property Disposal Program is subject to the provision of the Crown Lands Act 1976 which determines the process of Crown property sales.
