From 1 July 2023 the component of SFCSS ​and TASSS death benefits, permanent incapacity and temporary incapacity benefits that are currently externally insured will be met on a cost incurred basis from the Tasmanian Budget.

This change retains the security of the funding of member benefits and will simplify the claims process for members as no external insurer will be involved.

All existing member entitlements will remain unchanged.

The Office of the Superannuation Commission will administer the claim process from 1 July 2023.
