You will need to transport, store and dispose of gaming equipment in accordance with the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission's Gaming Equipment Transport, Storage, Installation and Disposal Standards.
These standards apply to the following prescribed licence holders:
- Venue licence holders
- Casino licence holders
- Tasmanian gaming licence holders
- the keno operator licence holder
- the monitoring operator licence holder
- a person whose name is listed on the Roll of recognised manufacturers.
You must have systems in place to prevent anything from potentially interfering with the normal operation of gaming equipment while the equipment is being transported, stored, installed or disposed.
Gaming equipment can be disposed by returning it to the manufacturer, selling it to another venue operator in Tasmania or to a person interstate, or having it destroyed by the monitoring operator.
As the venue operator, you will still be responsible to comply with the requirements of standards. Installations must be undertaken by a licensed technician of the monitoring operator. Destruction must by undertaken by the monitoring operator.
Statutory declaration for the destruction of gaming equipment at a disposal site
Section 4.4 of the Gaming Equipment Transport, Storage, Installation and Disposal Standards requires that an approved statutory declaration is completed confirming witness to the destruction of gaming equipment.
Prescribed licence holders must complete the Statutory Declaration - gaming equipment destruction.
